So I have had my D22 Navara for 7 years now. It is still going strong and never missed a beat despite the reputed engine problems. Mind you, new bearings and crankshaft bolts ensured it didn't go bang.
As we have moved out to the countryside where there was a lot of flooding and sure to be some ice in the winter my missus has decided she wants a 4x4.
Not one to miss an opportunity I have offered her mine and that will give me the option to get something newer.
Looking at a 10 plate or if I push the boat out an 11 plate. Overall my head points me to the D40 navara. Hilux is out, they are just to expensive for what they are. Land Rovers never even entered the equation. I like it to be comfortable and I am 6'2"
Any comments? Should I save up and look for the Isuzu? I am not worried too much about depreciation because I will be keeping it until the D22 dies and then we will probably do the same again. That should be another pile of years. Lol.
Which Truck?
Re: Which Truck?
Don't bother with an x trail got an 07 one and it's always doing brake calipers for some reason third one on the front now :shock:also the wings are plastic you said landy is out have you tried to sit in a td5 defender loads of room no rear bit so seat goes back a fair way and plus side a vehicle that loves off road
I'm ok I'm only 5ft 8 so I've got tax exempt landy it's a bit like triggers broom though

Two and half million made and three quarters of these still on the road, can you say the same about your 4x4

Re: Which Truck?
Without wishing to get into a debate on LR reliability or quality I don't need something that will drive up the side of a mountain. So it will be of eastern origin most likely.

Why don't you keep your Navara as it is what you like and buy 'she who should be obayed' a Dacia Duster. I have one and my shopping list was ; Diesel engine , switchable 4 wheel drive , 4 doors , seat 5 and most of all a spare wheel. Cost me £13,500 new but they do cheaper models. Drives like a car , high up to see the country side 45mpg and goes like that brown stuff off a stick. Worth a look and a test drive. You never know you may just like one yourself.
