New to Night Vision.

Hello,
I've been shooting now over 40 years...ever since I could hold an airgun in fact, but I have absolutely no experience of NV, so I've joined this forum in the hope I may be enlightened. I have a few rabbits on the farm so I've been reading up on NV to see what I would need to reduce their numbers. I have an FAC air rifle, a .22 and a .17 HMR amongst several other rifles and shotguns. Use of NV equipment will be quite limited so although I would like something reasonably good I can't really justify spending a fortune.
No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think digital will perhaps best suit my needs. I've looked at and discounted the Yukon Photon...too many people seem disappointed with them. The Pulsar N750 seems to get good reports but probably a bit over budget new plus I would need to remove my day scope. The Pulsar DFA 75 looks good on paper but very few people go so far as to actually recommend them. Rear add ons might be the way to go but the only one I can find which doesn't necessitate some form of physical contortion is the Ward D Vision. This is certainly within budget and from videos on
You Tube seems to perform quite well. So there you have it.....any comments on any of the above or anything else for that matter would be greatly appreciated.
Perhaps I should also mention I have done a lot of trap shooting over the years and although I seldom shoot competitively now I'm coaching my 10 year old son so that he can hopefully take up where I left off. He's a lucky lad, (but like a lot of youngsters these days doesn't always realize just how fortunate he really is), he has an indulgent father and coach and his own DTL and ABT layout on the farm for practice. Facilities I had to travel scores of miles for when I was starting out!!!!!

Hi R, welcome to the forum.

Whilst there is a certain amount of contortion-ism involved with an add-on NV, which is best if you want to swap between three rifles, it is quite minimal these days. Some like to get their heads down to use the usual ocular cheek-weld stance but many are equally comfortable with a heads up up position, which I find better in a truck.

Pull up a chair and get reading through the DIY and general NV sections to see what takes your fancy.
