ALTERNATIVE POWER

Post by johnnyrebel » 19 Jan 2014, 22:36

I was getting my gear together today for my annual carp fishing trip to France. Every year I'm looking for some new way of lighting / powering batteries , keeping warm etc. Had a quick look on the net and came across this http://shop.biolitestove.com/campstove. ... txQaWdFDIU , I think it's a brilliant bit of kit, it looks like it's been out a while but I aint seen it until now. I'm not suggesting it's of any use for nv , but what a brilliant concept.

That is a clever idea, John. I haven't come across anything similar before.

I think it was originally designed for use with the emergency services , international rescue (?) teams that are assembled after natural disasters, floods , earthquakes, tsunamis etc. It appears from the reviews that it works a bit better than expected because people are buying them for general use whilst camping / outdoor activities. It seems to be more than a gadget , a bit like the "Kelly kettles" but with a power source . Perhaps a small charge, but in the reviews one guy said he'd run a small led light off it. Now I know it aint gonna run my electric blanket while I'm in France. but I think I'm going to get one just for curiosities sake :) .
