Did jellied eels down in Poole, some 40 years ago. Barfed all over the promenade and not eaten eel since :lolno:

A nice piece of finny haddock , home made parsley sauce , crusty bread and best butter :D

I am the same george i cant stand them jellied or fried but that smoking totally changes the taste and even the texture of them.

You won't get kippers in Arbroath, but you will get the best smoked haddock (aka Arbroath smokie) in the world.

I was Born & Bred in Poole, I was even sat in the van this morning at the far end of the quay watching the rain coming over the Purbeck hills trying to get motivated to work

Ah, so an Arbroath smokie isn't a herring, it's a haddock 8-)
