It's the peacefulness of it I enjoy and just being there but I kind of over did it for a few years so got fed up with it. Last time I went, like you was going away for a few days and decided to re-kindle my passion for it. I borrowed 2 rods (just to be clever  ) found out the tides and off I went. It put me off for life, no sooner as I cast one out I'd be baiting up the other and the first rod would be knocking like mad so I'd strike, reel it in to find a dogfish. Throw out the second rod and start re baiting the first to find the second rod going like mad. Strike, reel in...Another dogfish. This went on for a while and I thought I must be catching the same one so I started putting them in rock pool. It was unreal I caught a stupid amout of dogfish, no sooner as the bait would be in the water they'd be on it, I didn't even cast the two rods out at the same time. I packed up after an hour and haven't been since :| .

Hope you have a nice time though and not just fishing! :)
