When I say T3, it's a T3 action with a 1/10 Border Barrel with a very heavy profile. It's now sitting in a Robertson Silhouette stock.
My .243 is also a T3 action with a Border Barrel, sitting in the Tikka Varmint stock and my .223 for nightvision is a T3 Lite, but in a Tikka Varmint stock
Haven't put a round through it yet. Bloody rain and wind!

Im waiting for a tika .204, i like my reme .204 and thought about spending on that but thought I'd try a tika first and maybe use that action for a project at a later date. Like you, I like a mag so the tika was the cheapest option and I was interested in seeing how the slightly shorter barrel performed so I could make an informed decision when I do a bit of modification to one of them at a later date, let us know your first impressions of it when you do get out George. Sounds like you've got everything I want! is that themal up for sale yet?......
It's dark, Im off

Was going to buy a new T3 in .204, but was told I'd have to wait 9-12 months for one
No 'For Sale' sign on the thermal camera yet

Aye, but once zeroed you just point and shoot, it makes shooting with nv a doddle, it's impossible to miss
Seriously though, I had reservations about the .204 with all the talk about stopping power and fussyness. It doesn't like certain gr rounds unless you get the right twist barrel like George and I've seen foxes not be stopped instantly by it but that also happens with a lot bigger cals so it's never really been an issue. It's just so easy to shoot, so in my opinion it's 'up there' as one of the best nv cal's hence getting another

Hello James.
Considering we've both got the same .204 and further to our conversation via PM's, I thought I'd stick those photo's up of the test I did the other week with 32gr and 40gr ammo.
The light was fading and I knew I woudn't have to try too hard to show the difference between the two bullet weights with insuffucient twist for the heavier factory loads, shot at 100 yards.
32gr. 4 shots.
40gr, 4 shots.
Can you tell the difference ?

Effluent in many languages.

That surely explains the difference between finding the right round for your rifle
It's nice to see it down on paper, it gives a true understanding that it simply isn't worth trying to shoot the 40gr accurately when it clearly doesn't suit the rifle. Nice to see how well the 32gr group, I like the reme it's a great, accurate rifle which gives a lot of confidence in the shot. I thought I'd need to reload for it but with the accuracy that can be achieved from factory rounds I really don't feel the need to. Im going for the tika because I've never owned one so fancied trying one plus I get everything I need without spending more on the reme, as in: Adjustable cheek piece, magazine and weaver rail ready mounted. Time will tell how it compares....

My Remy loved the 32 grain factory and 39 grain homeload Blitzkings.
The 1 in 10 Tikka shoots the 40 grain Berger very nicely indeed, so I'm told (I've got the data and some loads), but we'll see what happens, as I'm a big fan of the 39's. I put the 40 grain Bergers through the .223 now, with nv.
Shot six charlie in six sessions with the .204 last year, out to 240 yards with nv. They never mentioned that the 39 grain Blitzking wasn't upto the job

The rest were shot with the .243, again with nv, on windy nights and out to a pinged 310 yards.
.204 is an okay calibre by me

They are getting some 39gr federal factory rounds in a shop near me soon so I'll be trying them out of interest, anyone tried those in .204?. I thought the 32gr wouldn't hit hard enough and I'd need to reload to use the 39gr but the 32gr do the job fine. I mostly seem to shoot out around 200yrds with the nv so the 32gr are more than adequate, I've dropped them out past 260yrds with them without a problem but I tend to use the 22-250 and lamp when I know Im out in open country with the chance of more longer shots. I do like the safeness of the .204 for shooting in amonst stock though, often I can't even see an exit hole.
