Hello from the Dales
Hello folks,
I thought I'd better join to try to learn something more about Night Vision, as although I've lamped rabbits and foxes for many years, I've only very recently entered the world of night vision, after getting a Yukon Ranger for spotting and dropping on a D440 gen2+.
Already spotted several familiar names on the forum, none more so than PESCA. Regards one and all. Cheers, best wishes, Jim

Thank you George,
It was actually via a reference on another site to you being moderator on here that I came upon this site. Good to know that there are friendly guys who can help with NV queries. It's surprising, I didn't know just how much there was to not know!! Work that one out! I'm trying to make haste slowly, as so far alot of the technical terminology means very little to me. Wouldn't know autogate from five bar gate.

Thank you for the welcome Geoff. Don't think I've met most of the folk in real life but I've done deals or otherwise come across quite a few on various shooting sites - always enjoy seeing what they have to say. It never ceases to amaze me the breadth of knowledge out there. Best wishes, Jim

Don't worry too much about terminology. The important bit is; if you look through it and it's dark, can you see the target?
Works for me.
I'm happy to pass on advice anytime, but then I love the sound of my own voice. And one of these days I might even know what I'm talking about.

Hello Gloop and thank you for the welcome and advice. As you say,I guess the bottom line in all of this is seeing furry stuff in darkness and (hopefully) putting a hole in it! There's alot of fresh air in Yorkshire, and over the years I've managed to shoot quite a bit of it. It's the little brown furry and feathery bits in that fresh air that take some hitting!

I have the same problem. It's the, how the hell did I ever miss that shot? It was so close I could have caught it.
My missus is from the free state of Yorkshire. Uddersfield way. So one or two nice birds that way. One or two heifers as well. I leave it to you to decide if I'm talking about the wildlife. But it always feicin rains when we go up there. Just like Ireland. Must be related.
