Building a website ??

Nowt to do with NV I know but I value the opinion of some of the members on here for an unbiased view of things.
Looking at getting a website for the business seeing as how retirement didn't suit. Are these free or DIY ones any good ? I need to keep my original email, I need to be able to upload pics and new details as and when, I don't want to spend a fortune as it may not bring any work in.

I don't need to sell off it as in take payments (I can use paypal for that), it's more for an overview of what we do so customers can contact us with details of what they want.

Oh, and it needs to be simple

Any ideas men (don't think there's any women on here)

If your offering a personal service/goods designed/manufactured for customers then go down the route of a cheap DIY site.
It will allow you to personalise your site to meet your needs.
You will have to allow 2-3 months for the web-bots to find your site once its submitted to the different search engines.
But if your customers have the exact website address then they can us it.
Paypal is the most commonly use payment method for small sites and you link through your site to take the paypal payments.
If you dont want to do linked payments you can just send your customers an paypal invoice to the email address.

Cheers Andy, wish it was a new venture Been doing it for donkeys years, tried retirement for a day and didn't like it so going to push this into modern times for my son That'll see me out of the departure lounge and on to the final flight

Any recommendation's as to a decent site to try ? Needs to be simple and logical to understand.

Iv not run any websites for ages now.
They all change, some for better and some get worse.
Hopefully someone with a bit more up to date and hands on info will jump in.

Rod, after a lot of research and reading reviews I'm using ipage, exactly what your looking for, self build drag and drop, built mine in an evening, can edit when ever I like, not expensive, go have a look see.
