BASC is continuing to fight against proposals to license all low-powered airguns in Scotland, to ban plinking in gardens and to impose visitor permits on anyone wishing to visit Scotland with an airgun.

A message from petition founder Dave Ewing:
"The shooting community must pull together and show more unity and action in defending our rights. 17,000 is just a drop in the ocean when we look at all the people in the UK with an interest in firearms and shooting. The five minutes it takes to sign this petition could make all the difference. When I attend the meeting with the Public Petitions Committee on Tuesday it would put us in a very good position to show a huge leap in signatures. It is up to us to protect ourselves - no one else will do it for us. An attack on one is an attack on all."
