Which range finder?

Post by paulham » 10 Jul 2013, 17:57

Hey everyone,

I've been using a hawke lrf400 range finder for the last year but some lowlife has decided to have a rummage through my motor and nicked my pound coins, range finder and a can of coke!

I'm looking to buy a new range finder but should I just go for what I know, or is there something better for the same money?

Cheers
Pal

For the money I think they are ok. I did get one with a red led which cost a bit more but wanted it for distances with nv.

I use a cheap one... Bentley Laser Range Finder.
It works well for up to 400 yards but the optics are not the best. It has all the features of the more expensive ones, including a solar charging panel on one side, so you don't even need any external batteries if you dont want to use one. You take your pick and pay your money. At under £100 it suit my needs for the moment.
If I were to spend a considerable more money, I would look for something with an illuminated display so that it could be used at night.
I guess that for using it with my air rifle, I don't need to look for anything more sofisticated. :D
...the doctor said that I need to do gentle exercise... I said to him that I already did... trigger squeezing!
