its one circle and the 72 degree segments on a peace of paper for a flat surface...how ever far the radious is the hole center on the curcle..

The DIAMETER of a circle, is outside edge to outside edge, across the midle.

The RADIUS is the distance from the center of the circle, to the outside edge/

Radius = 1/2 Diameter, obviously.

C = 2 * PI * R

PI is always 3.1416 (close enough)

the distance of the outside edge (circumference) of any circle is 2 * 3.1416 * Radius

you could then divide the circumference by the number of holes.

yet another tack to take? There are 360 degrees in a circle... so... dividing 360 degrees by the number of holes would allow you take a protractor to see how many degrees from hole to hole (thats center to center, obviously)

PCD stands for Pitch Circle Diameter and is most commonly found as a measurement in replacement alloy wheels. It is the diameter of the circle which passes through the centre of all the holes (for the wheel bolts etc). As has been shown it's not easy to translate the PCD onto your job to mark out for drilling particularly when you need it to be right. You can set out the angles if you have an accurate way of doing that (360 degrees divided by the number of holes), work out the c-c distance and scribe that (as was done here) or work out the x-y co-ordinates which would be easier to draw using simply a ruler and graph paper or could be dialled in directly on a milling machine.

ahhh i see the problem .

you might find theyre a bit out working with pi curcumference..not much but enough. triangles are better as said on a earlier post.

even disecting equol parts on a TD board are hit and miss lol.
