Went to my mate's place yesterday evening, following his kind invitation for a go at the local population.
I saw 2 Munty, the first was a fleeting glimpse of a shoulder and back behind a grass tussock on my way to the high seat, while under strict instruction not to shoot out of the seat !
The next was 3 hours later, a Munty doe.
She moved from left to right across a ride 30m in front of me, which is about 5m wide and slightly to my right. By the time I noticed her she was nearly half way over and heading to a feeder.
I got the rifle to the shoulder and, Munty being Munty, she kept moving and got behind the feeder ! Bugger.
There's a Fir tree branch hanging between us and the right hand side of the feeder, the only possible way to get the shot is to get right down on the rail and switch hands.
Oh no !
There was 1m of room left to take the shot before she disappears. She paused to check the feeder for a couple of seconds, then stepped out, then stepped back.
Bugger.
That gave me some time to settle and wait for her to step forward again, she stepped out and paused. Phew, she went down with a heart/lung and only twitched once.
Nothing else of note seen except a badger, sssstrutting like only Badger can !
Dave's finger....I reckon he got caught stealing in Saudi
