Cheers George, I'm using the extension tube already but could also do with a bit more intensity for the longer shots with the visable LEDs. I've found myself thinking too many times that I could have taken that shot wit the LF so the 66mm head has a fair bit of appeal if it gives me more range. Back around the mountain for me now flat out lambing here so I'll email Tony tonight..

Can you buy just the head seperately?
Does the extension tube fit both?
Are the LEDs interchangeable with both torches?

What a welcome  but I need answers
Yes you can buy just the head, if you apply enough pressure ;)
I don't know about the ext tube or leds fitting both.

I just happened to be over at Tonys and he mentioned that the night master was better with the 66mm head, so i left with one :D and it is.

Indeed the head can be bought seperately.. £74.95....ouch, but better than a whole new torch I suppose.

What's the adjustable mount like for these torches? I just ordered one of those to try because I don't think my laserluchs ball mount will give enough clearance for the head

I use one of his adjustable mounts and find it very good, the markings are wrong on them though ie: up/down is actually left/right not that it matters anyway as you can't read in the dark. I don't lock mine as i like to adjust it in the field sometimes.

Oh yes, rather expensive for what it is which was why I was hoping Marky or someone was going to knock up an attachment to use the usual 66mm aspheric. The way I look at it is I've spent thousands on IR lasers and I've never been happy so £75 'could' be a cheap investment if it gives me more range with a 940nm led and better clarity with the visable LED's at distance.

I'd have a go at building something but last time I tried welding an LED I couldn't get the rod to arc
