Hi everyone, I'm new to night vision having just bought a Pard nv007A. What a brilliant bit of kit.
Can anyone tell me why IR1 seems brighter than IR3 when scanning around the garden.
New member, quick question
Re: New member, quick question
Rather than scanning, try looking at one object at a fixed distance more than 50 yards away and try the IR on each of it's different power settings.
I think you'll find that the image with IR2 is significantly brighter than with IR1 and on IR3 the image is only slightly brighter than IR2
What may be happening when you scan around in IR2, is that stuff which reflects IR very well (lots of vegetation reflects IR very well) overloads the sensor causing it to become temporarily less sensitive.
In IR1 there could be less reflected IR and the sensor can cope with it with reducing its sensitivity.
Try the same thing again, but with the IR lens pushed back to give a wider beam and see if the same thing still happens
Cheers
Bruce
