Hi, New here **Intro**

Hello everybody.

My name is Arik and i'm excited to have found this site. I've been out of the extermination game for a bit now. i used to kill a lot of stuff with firearms as a kid. (a lot was eaten) Its been a lot of years, but im interested in culling a few varmints now. Rats to be specific.

My pops was an avid outdoors man and we grew up in a rural farming valley(San Joaquin) in Central California. When i was a kid we could walk the alfalfa fields and knock down pheasants for dinner. Duck/goose hunt the winters, shoot colored eggs off the stumps at easter, pluck lizards off the woodstacks with our .22s, and kill blue jays out of our almond orchards with our sheridan and benjamin air rifles. I stopped shooting over time as i aged and the animals dwindled. Be hard pressed to walk all day and kick up a pheasant these days.

anyhow, i just picked up a new firearm:

I need to outfit it for night hunting to solve a rodent problem. I picked this weapon because i can easily pump the velocity i prefer and its light and short and i'll be aiming up a lot. The targets will only be 3-7 meters overhead and around. Plus, i plan to help my daughter become a good marksman as well and she should be able to easily manage this gun. I used one of these as a kid and they were spot on and plenty powerful. This one is upgraded to .22 and 14.6" barrel, extended steel breach, and composite stock. i'd like retain an "Open Field of View" type site if possible as the targets are so close.

i plan to put a DIY NV setup on it. This is what has led me here. I saw 2 very inspirational youtube videos and now i'd like to try a scopeless digital reticule NV setup. i think it would work well on this little air rifle. I'll post a build thread when i get started.

Hopefully with some knowledge and help from around here we get it done in the coming weeks. The custom ordered Crosman is due to arrive in 3-5 weeks so we see how she goes in the meantime figuring out and gathering the other essentials.
