New member pard008
Hi all I’ve just joined as I’ve bought a pard008, first nv scope and quite happy with it apart from the awful manual that come with it. I’m trying to get info on aligning the red dot as it seems way off or is this just a gimmick that should be ignored?

This info (and the laser pointer dot) May or may not help you; if you're shooting with a buddy and he goes to retrieve, or you are struggling to designate the particular target, then it can help point out the direction, it's easy to get disorientated in the dark!
Use the wee Allen key that is included to move the red dot via the 2 wee grub screws top and left of the lens, like you adjust the turrets on a scope. If you get it spot on at say 50 metres, then if something target-wise is closer, the red dot would be slightly higher than the reticle, whereas if it's further away than 50mm the dot would be lower than the reticle. This may or may not be of benefit to you, only you will know.

Re: New member pard008
Ah I see now that’s great thanks I’ll get that done, did I read that it has a built in range finder also?
Re: New member pard008
The NV008 LRF has a built in rangefinder, the standard (and cheaper) NV008 does not have a rangefinder.

Re: New member pard008
Hi Folks - I'm new to the Pard 08 too. Liking it a lot but has anyone found an easier way to line it up than the "challenging" one shot zero method in the manual.
Thanks
Barry

Hi, I’ve just got one too, but not sure what you mean, the method as described by Bruce/Russ in their manual was pretty straight forward I thought. Can you be more specific on the problems your having?willowbrooktan wrote: ↑02 Oct 2019, 20:27Hi Folks - I'm new to the Pard 08 too. Hello Matfff - its maybe because I'm very much computer illiterate but I couldn't see much at all in the Operation Manual that came with the unit. Perhaps I need to have a re read & do some more research. Thanks for your response in any case.

Re: New member pard008
Hi Barry I watched the optics warehouse guide on YouTube, but found it a lot easier to zero it at 40 yd’s then once I got the x axis correct moved the target out to 60, then it’s only the y axis to adjust to allow for drop in height. Quite surprised it dropped about 1.5 inches from 40 to 60yds

AhHa! Sorry, thought you had read the excellent manual produced on here by two members, Bruce and Russ. Please download it here:

Bruce
Yes absolutely brilliant & no comparison with the one which came with the unit.
Thanks again - everyone.
