I'll be popping by for advice now and then and thought I'd post up what I have to play with.
Me and a mate have each side of a chopper pilots NV helmet rig which are a few years old, but believed to be Gen 3. They are nice compact units, are focusable at the front for varying distances and at the back they seem to also make the depth perception a bit clearer when you turn the eyepiece?!
We're aiming to fit them to a challenger dsa to use as an add on, which can be quick released if needed to still be used as a spotter, as they are good out to 300 ish yards with no illuminator. Only thing is they don't show up eye shine, which is something we'll be working on.
Has anybody come across owt like em before, as they have no markings at all for obvious reasons?
Mine seems to have some crud on the lens and it'd be good to give it a clean, but I dare not take it apart!
I also have a Yukon NVRS-F I'm borrowing off a friend to try on my FAC rapid. Any tips for illuminating this better for slightly further distances?
Cheers
Stratts
Yukon on my rapid (I now have a dovetail rail fitted)

Chopper NV unit (About 4" long ish)

View from my chopper NV unit (You can see the crud spots that annoy me!!) The trees on the left are a good 350 yards away, maybe more!!
