Rifle rest on sticks

Post by Max » 22 Jul 2017, 19:33

Any ideas or suggestions on how to make a rest to set my rifle in on top of tripod, while waiting on fox. I shoot on my own & think this would
speed things up a bit when fox spotted. Cheers

Max, I got a set from Best Fox Call about a month ago. Not too overpriced or engineered, simple to set up in the dark. I've been using DIY ones for years and these are much easier to set up. Hope this helps

I'm another one that quad sticks has transformed my shooting, however if i've understood your question right ? if your wanting to leave the rifle on the sticks while waiting for fox, this MIGHT not be the best way unless you know it will be in FAST on you, or you are more or less sure where it will come from.
I in general when calling have the rifle loaded hung on its carrying strap over my shoulder, quad sticks in one hand red torch in other hand scanning 360*, as foxes CAN come in from any direction, if you have your rifle mounted in the quad sticks it can reduce your ability to scan 360* if you haven't got good flexibility, the faster you can pick the fox up, the better you have to prepare for the shot.
