Awesome rugged phone.

Post by cliveward » 29 Jun 2017, 12:42

Hi All,

Last year my Sony phone started falling to bits so had to go away for mending, in the mean time I had a punt on a rugged phone, a Blackview BV6000 which was so good I never bothered using the Sony again. It took a bit of getting used to being rather a lump and the only thing that bothered me about it was the awful proximity sensor.

Luckily they have brought out a new model, the BV8000 Pro which I ordered direct from the manufacturer and I'm pleased to say this one works very well (only had it a day so far).

It's like the BV6000 but much less bricky. Every aspect is better, speed display, etc.

The plus points for me are that it's very rugged and waterproof. Big screen for my old eyes and useful as a monitor when using wifi with NV or thermal. Dual sim so far more chance of a signal in an emergency. Massive battery life of around 3 days of normal use too.

Looks less Tonka toy than the old one too.

Well worth further investigation for anyone after a decent featured rugged phone for not stupid money. I think mine was about £190 delivered when it was on sale.

I got it from here and can vouch it was bona fide and actually turned up:
