Some bloke has a you tube vid where he makes a lens cap with a 25mm hole in to reduce the reflective double halo from a foxes eye shine, I just used a Butler Creek flip up and a 25mm step cutter which did the same job.
My question is with the Photon extreme do you still get this halo effect without the cap or is one required, looking at a few vids of extreme footage it doesn't look quite as bad as a standard Photon

Re: Halo effect from photon
i dont get no halo effect with mine,i got a t67 black sun 2 on it on full power, screen on about 4-6,then i just use the aperture settings to reduce any brightness or glare
better still shoot them before they get chance to look at you
i think adjusting the aperture is a bit like having a adjustable iris,in full daylight/sunshine i have to adjust the aperture down to minimum a tiny hole to get a nice crisp picture, then at night/n.v. use i open it up to full/big hole depending on how much i.r. i using.
