Im thinking of putting two cameras up, one on the back of the house and one on the front. I dont really want to hard wire them to a dvr as it will be a right pain to get the wires through the house. the distance they would have to see is a max of 30m I would say. Can anyone suggest a reasonable wifi ip system that doesnt cost the earth?
Cheers

Re: CCTV protecting your home
Hate to say it but when I replaced our cctv about 3 or 4 years ago I tried wireless and to be honest it was crap,I returned it and got a 4 channel sentinel with DVR and I have never had a problem with it at all.
Yes it is a bit of a bugger running the wires etc but in my opinion well worth it,they're are probably many new setups available since I fitted mine but just don't believe there 100 to 150 yds TV picture quality rubbish.

Thanks for the info mate, I thought maybe the wireless ones wouldn't be up to the job, looks like I'll have to think of a way to run the wires through the house

Funny enough I am at the auld ones place at the moment and he has a 2 camera setup that is wireless. Got it from maplins. I'm pretty impressed with it and thinking about buying something similiar. Range he is using it at is about 40 feet so not that far but not bad at all. I was also chatting to mr man in maplins and he said if you don't want wireless then you can connect the cameras into your ring main like a wifi booster and view them through your pc.
I came back and had a look at the sure website to see if they had anything suitable but they were a bit pricy. Think their stuff is more for the trade market than the domestic.

Ive got tp link plugs for the wifi, not sure if you can use them to carry the signal?
I have to do a bit of research.
