Excellent coverage from the bbc of this moving but dignified event , you could see on a lot of their faces how happy they were on the walk down to westminster abbey (and one or two looked as though they could still misbehave if they felt like it
) , my old grandad fought in burma alongside the gurkhas but would never really talk about it much except to say "it was rough boy bloody rough" , i remember a few times when i was a kid he would suffer from recurrence of malaria that he got when he was out there , about the only thing i was ever told about his service was they went to aviemore in scotland for training before they shipped out due to the terrain being similar to where they were heading.
