Re: Intro - *Waves*

No, not really.
It's going on a sub12ftlb air rifles, so for the ranges you can realistically shoot at, the Vantage and 007 combo will work perfectly well.

Re: Intro - *Waves*

The 2-7x32 will be better and easier to use. However, be aware that the small 32mm objective lens is not going to let in as much light as say a 50mm lens. You said your wifes' 3-9x50 worked well - why not "borrow" it or get another the same? It has a low enough base magnification to make target aqui...

Re: Intro - *Waves*

The Hawke sidewinders have a good reputation with the PARD, but x6.5 base magnification is just too much.
You'll get much better results running it a scope with a base mag of 2.5 - 3 or x4 at a push

Re: Intro - *Waves*

You're definitely doing it wrong :D Try this procedure: 1. before attaching the PARD, and if necessary, adjust the scope eyepiece so that the reticle is focussed for your eye 2. Fit the PARD and, if necessary adjust it's position so the the centre of the scope reticle is in the centre of the display...

Re: New ultra lowlight camera. Wat-910HX Killer!

Dmitri,
Thank you for the link - that's very interesting.
So sense up x4 implies that the frame rate is 7.5 per second.
That seems reasonable given how the screen looked when I moved the camera and how quickly the image stabilised when I stopped moving the camera.

Re: New ultra lowlight camera. Wat-910HX Killer!

Sense up x4 - which I believe is one frame every 4 seconds. To put it another way, that's 100 times slower than needed for video which appears continuous and smooth to the human eye. I hesitate to say that your camera is 100 times more sensitive than the Watec, but I did not see any lag on your came...

Re: New ultra lowlight camera. Wat-910HX Killer!

Zulu50Oscar (Dmitri) sent me one of these cameras and an excellent 7-33mm f0.95 lens to try and to compare with the E700 and a Watec 910Hx. That Watec costs around £600 and is generally regarded as the "King" of low light cameras and is much beloved by astrophotographers. To compare Dmitris' camera ...

For that range, the onboard IR illuminator will be more than good enough - no additional IR needed.

Re: Wanted Hornady OAL Gauge

Just load them to SAAMI spec and shoot!
Unless you're really into long range target shooting, a few thou difference in OAL won't make the difference between a hit and a miss on live quarry

Re: Wanted IR Laser illuminator

What sort of mag do you shoot at? Are these any good for Gen3 Nv ?, also looking for more compact unit. No, No and no again! Gen 3 is not sensitive to 940nm IR Gen 3 is sensitive to 850nm IR, but vcsel based 850nm IR illuminators are way too powerful for it - the image will just be a white or green...
