I'm a big fan of the PARD NV008 ( I have 2 of them) but for rats, I think it's x6.5 base magnification is too much. Also, if eye strain is a problem, then the PARD doesn't have any colour filter on the monochrome NV display The ATN might be a better bet for your specific application, lower base mag...
