Watec 902 series

Post by rabh » 16 Oct 2013, 07:02

Do all the 902 series have privacy filters for use in a scopeless set up?
Thanks

Maybe the 910HX has, but I don't think any of the 902 series have provacy filters, certainlythe 902H does not have privacy filters.
If you want to use a 902 in a scopeless set up you'll probably need a cross hair generator to produce a reticle on the screen.

Thanks Bruce, a pity as some of the 902 series had bases which lend themselves well to mounting.

Most box cameras have similar mountings but it's easier to mount a cylindrical camera or lens and keep it lined up with a scope. If you were building a scopeless unit then the mounting holes in the camera case could be used but only the latest (and most expensive yet) watec has the privacy mask feature. The crosshair generator such as the one produced by Igors (thread on here somewhere) is a simpler way of achieving a zeroable (sorry) reticle but it would need a small waterproof box to contain the electronics.
