scopeless mounting ...

Post by Willorchard » 24 Jan 2015, 18:23

Have just mounted one of Someblokes scopeless , I recently bought from silent shooter , had a play with the scope , well impressed with the performance , I came to mount it on my browning t bolt but the t bolt has weaver type mounts screwed to it which come as standard with the rifle , so I've had to put a weaver to dovetail adapter on to take the scope , so it has added a bit more height , as you can see from the picture there is a large gap between the lens and barrel , is this an issue or should I not be worried about it ? And help would be appreciated , thanks will

Can't you change the scopless mounts to weaver ones?

You can swap to either high weaver mounts - or low dovetail ones if you keep the riser adaptor on.

Be advised there is a shim below the tube at the very rear to put just a little down elevation to start with so transfer that to the new mounts.

Looking at how narrow those weaver rails are, you may be better off with a single 6 screw heavy duty weaver base mount like the one's on the lower right hand side of ant supplies page here;

http://ant-supplies.co.uk/Pages/WeaverS ... amped.aspx

HIGH PROFILE

£10.00p each or
£17.00p per pair

Overall height 62mm, width 44mm,
thickness 25mm.
Elevation of 25mm.

Also note the enclosure is probably screwed to the rear of the rear mount with an M4 cap head.
