Bs ruby in a t20

Postby sunndog » 11 Jan 2018, 10:23

Last night was the first night i'v been able to get out for ages and it was clear too, for a bloody change

I'v been waiting to try the ruby in a t20. (Standard lens)
This was on my hmr with a nikko p niteater 6-24x56 and wdv700. On 6x 400yds was no problem at all, still nice and bright. way brighter than the old oslon black in a 66mm host

At 150yrds 8.5x was about the limit

Switching up to sunnranger i'd moved position so 300yrds was the limit, nice and clear up to 15x and at 150yrds 24x was fine
By this time the moisture was starting to gather making any more comparisons pointless

Tbh the extra visible light didn't bother me overmuch. Not as bad as i remember the n1000 being

My hope with the ruby was to be able to shoot over a bait station (sub 200yrds) using a nice small standard t20 which it will do perfectly well

when asking for advice, please include what n.v device and/or illumination you already have (if any) and what rifles you intend to use them on...cheers

Would you happen to have another T20 wi a 4715AS in it and someone to shine at you side by side on full power to assess if there is much difference seen by the human eye at say 100 and 200 yards away Adam?

I'd also be keen to discover if half power of the Ruby is anything like full power of the AS too. If you could - pretty please. 8-)

No need to do it special thanks mate.

I've confered wi he who has a pony tail and should be getting some for the EVO soon so will be able to compare in 38 and 50 forms: Its a lot easier to swap the heads about on them. I'll likely add the comparison to the video collection for posterior. :D

If i find a t20 body then its no bother to have a look mate. Video of the two side by side would be interesting though
