Unique fire T20 tail cap thread

Postby gazza78 » 16 Sep 2017, 15:15

Does anyone know the thread size for the unique fire UF-T20 tailcap. I want to remove the tail cap and mount the torch to a project box using a nut but can't find one that fits.

Thanks

You could cut the torch body and chop up a scope mount to clamp on the tube inside the box. Then screw through the front of the box into the mount as an anti-rotation device.

Not a bad idea as a last resort if I can't get a nut that fits. Cheers

Hi gazza78,

I've just had a look for you and it's M23.5x1. You might get away with a standard M24x1 locknut but there wouldn't be a lot of thread engagement so you wouldn't be able to put much torque on it before pulling the tips off the threads on the torch body.

Cheers

Thanks so much for that Clive. That's going to be a job to find in the UK and no doubt have to pay a premium for.
May need to hunt through my old Chinese scrap torches and find some matching threads to chop up and use.

Thanks Clive. Think they will be hard to find in the UK and at a premium. I've had a look through my old Chinese torches and have managed to find a thread that matches so I've chopped it off the old body and will suffice for now.

Cheers
