Re: re-barrel
I have enquired about my Remy 700 flutted looking at roughly a grand.

Re: re-barrel
Yup, my last barrel cost a grand.
A Basic barrel job will cost £5-600 plus the cost of the barrel blank plus extra for threaded end cap, fluting and finishing. I like a bead/vapour blasted finish as it stays looking new with all but major abuse. Bergera barrel blanks are ok and will save some cash compared to the likes of pacnor, bartlein and truflite.

Re: re-barrel
So cheaper to buy a new one and sell the action as a donor and the stock separately. I winced at paying £700 to get my Howa done, not sure how long it takes but couldn't imagine it would take a skilled rifle smith too long so the hourly rate must be extortionate.
Re: re-barrel
Still in a thinking about it stage , no rush , see how we get on in a few outings......
