Need recommendations on a scope.

Postby Frogman Ladue » 04 Oct 2017, 20:21

I need recommendations on a scope. I figured I'd ask you guys, as the Murican consensus is limited to two scopes.

I'm looking to scope a .357magnum bolt action...I don't need big magnifications, or the best glass - this will be a 150m gun at tops. Rings are limited to 1". My budget is around 300 quid. It's going to be a hunting/field gun. Bushwhacking, rain/snow, drops, and long trips on gravel roads tied to the front end of an ATV will happen. I need durability. I prefer capped, re-zero'able, turrets that don't require tools to adjust.

I don't need AO or side focus. I don't need illumination.

Thoughts.

Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40
Athlon Argos 3-15x40
Sightron SIH-TAC 4-12x40
Nikon Prostaff 3-9x50
Leupold
Bushnell
Burris
Redfield

£300 ($400) will get you a lot more in the USA than it would here, so you could possibly move up a grade from the scopes I've listed

Cheers

Hi
this is my first post here. Try to find a old Kahles Helia Super in steel. They are still the favorite scopes in the austrian mountains.

Try starting a 'wanted' thread in the sales section fella
oslon black drivers
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=2333

when asking for advice, please include what n.v device and/or illumination you already have (if any) and what rifles you intend to use them on...cheers

Thanks, someone with a real recommendation. Kahles are a little above my 300 quid, $450 budget. It's only a .357 mag shooting 150m tops. I'll never be able to use a Kahles to its full potential in that setting.
