Better quality 16mm lens for e700?

Post by THE GRIFF » 24 Oct 2014, 20:21

Anyone know where I can get a better quality 16mm lens from than what comes with the e700 as standard. Looking for a reputable uk supplier, not an exaggerated spec'd one off a foreign eBay seller.
Preferably around f1.2 - f1.4 for my add on build, because of the mirror/prism in the build I want to try and give it as much light as possible so thinking a better lens might be a good place to start, and because jock put a better one in his as well so I am just copying really!

part code BL-D/N-16-350-950nm-1mp F1.4 £25.45 pricy but a big improvement over the standard 16mm lens.

That ones for a 1/2 inch chip camera which would give a a wider field of view

Griff

you will have to make sure the stockoptics lens poppy has just linked to, will fit within the top of the mirror casing...,,,if that is how you're mounting it

outside diameter of the lens is 30.5mm

as regards the ebay one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370573986988? ... 1439.l2649

bear in mind this was one of the lenses Roland tested, and he found the F number to be as advertised, so I think this seller is one of the honest ones.........

only took 10 days to arrive ;)

Personally think this lens really well on an e700, would say it gives a better picture than there 16 and 25mm c/cs lenses when fitted to the e700,upto you really, Jocks ones, a lot cheaper , but from overseas.

I was hoping to get cracked on with it this week, I didn't really want to wait another couple of weeks as I am away on a course with work, but thanks again, I may resort to having to order the eBay one.
The one from stock optics is for a 1/2 inch sensor and don't really want to alter the field of view because at the momont it it perfect, am I correct in thinking by fitting a lens for a half inch sensor it will alter the field of view of the image?
