Finished my first nv set up

Post by Mart1n » 12 Jan 2014, 10:28

Hello folks
Just an update on my nv
It's turned out a little bigger than I wanted but all the wires , battery's and connections
Are inside the box that the screen mounts to and the charging point is underneath the screen
iv an idea the slim it down by only fitting the screen the the mount and fitting a small battery pack in the scope tube with the camera but that will have to be mk2
I wanted to keep it as wire free as possible
I'm going out to night to test it so I'll have a better idea what I need to change after iv used it for a while

Atb. Martin.

You must be well happy with that. It's a lovely build

Guessing that MK2 will be a stunner.

Total cost is £104 including the t20 IR
That's not bad going for a working NV
I could of saves money by ordering parts from china but I didn't want to wait
The cogs are ticking already for my next one :)

looks very similar tot hte one we have just done...altho i used this board to mount the wires, so no joints

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Copper-Protot ... 2a1897fe5b

and cut the project box to accommodate the screen inside

but this nv malarky is very compulsive once you start...lol

Will you put on a pic of yours please
I'd thought about putting the screen in the box but couldn't get the cut clean enough
So I'd like to see how you did it

You dont have to worry about getting the cut too clean , i have done this with a couple of screens and all i used was a dremmel with a little deburring tool ( i think thats what its called  ) it cuts through the plastic nicely then i just finish the edges off with the grinder bits

Excellent stuff.. Nice and tidy. Well done.

P.s How did you secure the addon to the scope in the end?

P.s You might want to put some green (Or what ever colour) gel filter sheet on your monitor screen to minimise the glare.
