The start of my DIY nv mk1

Post by Mart1n » 05 Jan 2014, 20:20

Hello folks I thought I'd show the start to my home build nv
So for its cost £0 iv used a cctv camera that I was given. A bath sealant empty tube and a roll on deodorant lid
All sounds a bit blue peter but iv been out tonight with it hooked up to my mates screen and IR torch and it works perfect

Its a perfect fit over my sidewinder scope and very solid
Iv finished it off with some carbon wrap the next step is to integrate the screen and battery in a box with all the wires so there will be only 1 wire from the camera
I'll keep you all posted :)
Cheers mart

Good stuff. I love how a bit of carbon wrap can really make it look the business 8-)

I know it's mad how it changes the look so much
Over the next week I'll be putting the screen together to keep it wire free :)
With the battery
Iv some ideas of how I want it to look but it will be done on the fly if it comes out as good as the camera I'll be happy

That's a good bit of Blue Petering: Looks like you are getting the hang of things.

Can you put some wood in the rig somewhere - something like this perhaps? :D

Carbon wrap looks really well and a nice neat little build coming along there using the mastic tubing :-)

Begs the question though..............................

.................is there ANYTHING which cannot be done with silicone these days, eh :-)

:L
I used to say many many silly things. I still do; but I used to :-)

2 thumbs up on the build... my first DSA's (though i didnt call them that at the time, lol) were mainly build around, of all things? A empty and washed out tube that held "brut" deodorant... fit over my 40mm scope eyepieces perfect about, lol...

i'll have to look into "carbon fiber wrap" to put around an improvised design... looks interesting...
Well, I understand that, boys... but see, my CAT gets the silly idea you're making fun of HIM... then he gets, *really* mean...

Love it. You can't beat a mastic tube and carbon fibre wrap.
