change of setup

Post by 22-250jock » 02 May 2013, 19:05

been having a play with a different setup, using watec 902h.

i'm not really keen on having a screen fitted to the rifle, but not having a spare viewfinder i thought i was going to have to.

so as a compromise i've made a mount out of some alluminium sheet to enable me to mount the angel eye dvr, with a loupe fitted, to use as the viewer.

after moving things around a few times trying to find a comfortable viewing position and reasonable eye relief, this is what i've ended up with

also wasn't happy having wires trailing, so mounted the battery pack on the reverse of the bracket

its suprisingly comfortable to view through, the camera doesnt get in the way and its simple to take on and off

wil be trying it out tomorrow night for the first time,

doesnt seem to bad Mike.

if i remember correctly, the loupe is 2.8x. i find it quite easy on the eye

as i said, hopefully get to try it out properly tomorrow night.
just looking out the bedroom window the picture is very good, but theres a lot of ambient light.

That's a good position. I like it!
Is the loupe attached to the DVR magnetically?

hi mate, yes it is.
comes with a metal base wich sticks to the dvr (had to remove the right hand side so it doesnt get in the way of the buttons) so its easy to remove if need be
