tvl700 vs e700

Post by tomburras » 01 Dec 2015, 17:48

Hi guys

Iv got a home built night vision set up that was made with a tvl700 camera and to be honest I think the picture quality is pants!!! im using it through a high quality scope and using a t20 with an ir doubler.

I was looking at other cameras and have seen a e700 camera but its quite expensive. would it give me a lot better picture? im asking as its an expensive thing to buy for it not to be a lot better,

cheers!

Tom.

Loads of camera's claim to be 700tvl, and there are umpteen unscrupulous vendors out there. Some will be not so bad as others.

The KPC E700 is about the best bang for buck you will find - and costs less than half what we were paying for usuable cameras before it came along.
It has a brilliant track record, guaranteed, and here in the UK for mostly next day despatch, day after delivery.

At £60 it is great value for what it does. Cheaper ones do not quite compare.

What scope BTW? full details best.

what sort of picture quality and range would you expect from a e700 with a t20 with doubler?

Resolution is the least of problems with the cheap cameras. I have tried quite a few with standard resolution testing charts and with decent light and good lens, even some cameras that only claimed 650 TVL were actually closer to 700.

The E700 is a well-balanced camera. It is pretty sensitive, with high dynamic range and eye-pleasing image with low contrast, so the noise is not so obvious. Its auto exposure also handles high contrast scenes better than most other cameras.
